Together, over the past 20 years, we have raised $18.8 million, providing 56.4 million meals to the Houston Food Bank.
Houston’s most anticipated foodie event of the year begins August 1st and runs through September 7th, 2026. That’s 38 days of delicious meals and super deals raising necessary funds for the Houston Food Bank. An extensive list of the most popular restaurants will participate and serve specially priced, multi-course prix fixe menus for brunch ($25), lunch ($25), or dinner ($39 or $55), available for dine-in and take-out.
The Galveston County Food Bank and Montgomery County Food Bank are part of the Houston Food Bank’s Partner Distribution Organizations (PDOs). The Houston Food Bank provides food to these smaller food banks, which in turn distribute the food to hunger relief charities in a portion of HFB’s service area. The Houston Food Bank certifies that their PDOs meet Feeding America standards.

Affectionately called “The Diva of Dining,” Cleverley Stone made it her life’s mission to beat hunger in Houston. “Dine Out & Do Good™” was Stone’s mantra, and her tireless efforts spurred an annual citywide boom in restaurant revenues and contributions to Houston Food Bank. Stone founded Houston Restaurant Weeks™ (HRW) in 2003 and it is now the city’s largest annual fundraiser of its kind and an exceptional testament to her vision.
The economic impact of HRW translates into millions of dollars for the local economy in August, historically the worst month of the year for Houston restaurants. Now, it’s their most profitable month of the year.
Stone was a 26-year restaurant correspondent and former host of “The Cleverley Food Talk Radio Show,” a freewheeling talk show about food, wine, dining, and issues influencing the food scene at national and local levels. A Who’s Who of celebrity chefs, restaurant industry illuminati, stars of The Food Network and journalists made guest appearances alongside up-and-coming local chefs and restaurateurs. This led to her being a popular contributor to FOX26/KRIV Morning News in Houston for many years.
HRW is carried on by her daughter Katie Stone in memory of her mother, who passed away in 2020 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Stone’s wish was that HRW continue in perpetuity in her name. In 2020, Katie Stone established The Cleverley Stone Foundation, which exists to continue her mission and legacy by supporting Houstonians in need by producing HRW and sister event Eat Drink HTX™. HRW became a month-long event, crossing the million-dollar mark with a $1.2 million dollar donation to Houston Food Bank
HRW extended into September to help restaurants impacted by Hurricane Harvey, with a $2.5 million dollar donation to Houston Food Bank

“The Houston Food Bank is so grateful to again be the beneficiary of Houston Restaurant Weeks. The funds raised by this event are more critical than ever, at a time when food banks are experiencing both funding cuts and increased need in the community. Thank you to Katie Stone and The Cleverley Stone Foundation for sustaining Cleverley’s legacy of dining out and doing good!”
